Authentic people. Beautiful but painful art.
Photographer Olov Tegby Frisk better known as Sotarn has for a year met and portrayed people who just like him have a penchant for tattoos. He has photographed them in his studio in the living room and in the backyards. By taking these people out of context and placing them in front of a white background Olov wants to give the viewer the opportunity to create an emotional connection to the image and expression.
Märkt is both a documentation of the tattoo culture in Sweden 2021 as well as a beautiful art book. All texts in Swedish are also reproduced in English.
